| What it is | An all-in-one back office for membership and subscription businesses: Stripe payments, sign-in and gating, a CRM, email and a help desk in one account. |
| What it costs (checked 19 Oct 2026) | Start $37, Scale $97, Pro $197, Max $697 a month billed yearly ($47, $127, $247, $897 billed monthly). Plans differ by contact count and by a transaction fee of 2%, 1%, 1%, 0%. |
| Who built it, per its own company page | Outseta, a small, independent and fully remote company founded by co-founders who had worked together at an earlier software company. |
| Who it suits | Founders of membership sites, communities and small SaaS products who would rather run one tool than stitch together five. |
| Verdict | A coherent bundle with no per-seat charge. Price it against the separate tools it replaces, and check the transaction fee against your payment volume. |
What Outseta is
Outseta is a single account that holds the pieces a small subscription business usually buys separately. You connect Stripe to take payments, protect pages or app areas behind sign-in, keep every customer in a CRM, send marketing and transactional email, and answer customers through a help desk. The pricing page frames it as paying for one tool instead of five.
The company sells to people launching a community, a membership site or a software product. Its page lists use cases such as associations, protected-content sites, clubs and communities, non-profits and SaaS and digital products.
Features worth knowing
- Subscription billing on Stripe, with individual and group memberships.
- Authentication and protected content, so paid areas open only for the right accounts.
- A CRM that tracks prospects and customers next to their subscription status.
- Email for campaigns and automations, plus transactional messages.
- A help desk, webhooks and API access, with an MCP option listed on every plan.
- Unlimited seats for your team on every plan, and free data migrations.
Who is behind it
The company page describes a deliberately small, independent team that works fully remote. It states that everyone earns equity at the same rate, that pay is standardised across the team, and that the company runs without budgets, forecasts or performance targets.
It names three co-founders, two of them engineers and one in marketing, who had worked together at an earlier software company before starting Outseta, and it lists the rest of the small team by role.
Pricing as the vendor states it
Outseta sells four plans, each with a monthly and a yearly price and a contact limit. Prices below are as shown on 19 Oct 2026; the yearly column is the per-month figure when billed annually.
| Plan | Billed yearly | Billed monthly | Contacts | Transaction fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Start | $37 a month | $47 a month | Up to 1,000 | 2% |
| Scale | $97 a month | $127 a month | Up to 10,000 | 1% |
| Pro | $197 a month | $247 a month | Up to 25,000 | 1% |
| Max | $697 a month | $897 a month | Up to 100,000 | None |
The page labels the yearly option as roughly 25% cheaper. On the listed prices the difference works out to 20% to 24% depending on the plan.
Outseta's fee is charged on top of Stripe's, which the page puts at typically 2.9% plus 30 cents in the US. On a $29.00 charge that is $1.14 to Stripe and $0.58 to Outseta on Start, $0.29 on Scale and nothing on Max, so the all-in cost is $1.72, $1.43 and $1.14. The Stripe fee calculator runs the Stripe half for your own prices.
Scale costs $60 a month more than Start billed yearly and halves the fee, so the fee saving alone pays for the difference at about $6,000 of monthly payments ($8,000 on monthly billing). Scale also lifts the contact limit from 1,000 to 10,000, which may matter first.

Who Outseta fits
- A creator or small team selling paid memberships who wants billing, gating and email in one place.
- A SaaS founder with a small team who values unlimited seats, since the page says there are no per-user fees.
- A community or association that needs a member database with payments attached.
- Not a fit if you already run best-in-class tools for each job and only need one of them.
Is it worth it
The bundle is the appeal. If you would otherwise pay for a CRM, an email tool, a gating tool and a help desk, one flat price per plan with no seat charges is easy to compare. The yearly prices start low enough to test with a first product.
The decision turns on volume. The transaction fee adds to Stripe's own, so a business processing a lot of payments should compare plans on fees as well as contacts, as the break-even figure above shows.
Outseta and a card-backed trial
Outseta describes a 14-day free trial with access to every feature, after which you choose whether to subscribe. That is a trial without a payment step up front.
If you sell your own product on Stripe and want a card on file before access starts, that is a separate layer from the back office. TrialValid places a hold on the card at sign-up and starts the trial only when the hold succeeds. A billing and membership tool and a hold-based trial can sit in the same stack because they do different jobs.
