VerdictFair value if you work on links every week. The plans scale by sites and links, so the entry tier is plenty for a founder with one product site.

What Linkody is

Linkody checks the backlinks of the sites you add and keeps an up to date list. It reports new links, lost links and changes such as a link turning nofollow, and it can send those reports to your inbox so you do not have to log in.

It also monitors competitor sites. The plans page says competitor links are free, but the website quota is shared between your own sites and the competitors you track, so adding competitors uses up slots.

Features worth knowing

  • Email reports tell you about new links and status changes, and the home page says landing pages are checked so you learn when a link points to a page that now returns an error.
  • Link metrics such as Ahrefs DR, Moz DA and Spam Score are shown beside each link to help you judge its value.
  • Excel and CSV export is on every plan, and so are white label PDF reports ready to send to clients.
  • A disavow tool lets you manage rules for links flagged by spam metrics from inside the product.
  • The company offers free tools on the same site, including a backlink checker and a website authority checker.

Who is behind it

The contact page lists Linkody with a business address at VIT, Vic Integració Tecnològica, in Vic, Spain. It shows no founders or team members, so we say nothing about who built it beyond that company address and the name on the page.

Other backlink tools include Ahrefs, Semrush, Monitor Backlinks and Majestic. We list names only and have not compared them.

Who it fits

A SaaS founder with one product site and a handful of competitors fits the Webmaster or Advanced tier. Two websites and 500 links is enough to learn the tool, and Advanced gives five websites and 2,000 links for $24.90 a month.

Agencies fit the Pro tier and above. Three users, twenty websites and white label PDFs match the client reporting the plans page describes.

Is it worth it

Link monitoring is worth paying for when you pay people or spend hours getting links. It tells you which of them stayed. If you build no links, the free checker on the same site may be all you need.

Before you buy, add your site and a competitor in the free trial, and see whether the report shows anything you did not already know.

How it relates to a card-backed trial

Linkody runs a 30 day free trial that, per its own plans page, ends automatically and asks for no credit card. A longer trial with no card removes risk for the buyer and moves the decision to the end of the month. A card-backed trial turns that moment into a charge the buyer agreed to at sign-up, as described in Product. If you sell a tool with monthly reports, a 30 day trial lets the buyer see one full cycle, and the trial conversion calculator helps you weigh length against conversion.
