# Start a TrialValid trial

Set up card backed free trials on your own Stripe account, step by step.

## Four steps to your first trial

1. Email hello@trialvalid.com. Send your Stripe plan, your trial length and your current sign-up numbers.
2. Approve the Stripe connection. We send you a Stripe Connect link, you approve it on Stripe, and you can revoke it at any time.
3. Choose a price and a trial length. Pick one of your Stripe prices and a trial of 1 to 90 days. The page shows that price, and Stripe holds that amount.
4. We publish your trial page. A buyer enters a card, TrialValid holds the plan price and starts the trial.

## What you need first

- A Stripe account.
- A Stripe price for the plan you sell.
- Optional: a Slack incoming webhook for alerts, and a domain for your trial pages.
