# Trial reminders and records

Every buyer gets a reminder before the first charge, and every trial keeps a time-stamped record of what the buyer was shown, ready if a charge is questioned.

## A record for every trial

Before the hold is placed, TrialValid builds the message the buyer sees: the amount, the trial end date, the charge date and how to cancel. It stores that message with the time and the version of your terms, so you can show exactly what the buyer was told.

## A reminder before the first charge

Buyers who are reminded cancel when they want to, instead of disputing the charge. For trials longer than 7 days, the reminder email goes out 7 days before the end. For trials of 7 days or fewer, it goes out at the start. Both state the amount, the charge date and how to cancel.
